Online Resource Help Guide

What is Issues Online?

Issues Online is an interactive resource containing articles, infographics and information on hundreds of important topics.

Key features:

Articles - there are over 2,000 articles on a wide range of topics, with a glossary of key terms.

Videos -  explore topics in a visual way with videos. 

Key Statistics - break down information into the form of graphs, infographics and maps.

eBooks - the full catalogue of Issues eBooks is available to read online.

How to log in

1. Click "Login" in the top right of the homepage
2. Under "Your Home Institution" click "Go to the login area"
3. Type "The Manchester College"
4. You will be asked to sign in using your organizational account: your student/staff email address and network password.

Using Issues Online

Use the "Search Here" box at the top of the Issues Online page to search for articles, videos, eBooks and key statistics:

The example below shows the results for a search for "cloning".

You can filter down your results using the options on the left hand side. Click on a result to open it.

Top Tip: Referencing Issues Online

Example: How would you reference this page from Issues Online?

You need the following information:

  • Name of website or name of author
  • Year published
  • Title of webpage
  • URL
  • Date accessed

So the Harvard reference for the page above would be:
