What can I access?

Your home institution will provide most of your library requirements.

Print books and journals

You are entitled to borrow up to 10 of our two-week loan books.

You can use other books and journals.

You cannot use our Request It! service

When your registration with Manchester Met is complete your university login will give you access to the online resources listed below. Remote access to online resources is available 24 hours a day.

If you wish to visit the Library in person, please note our opening times.

You will be able to connect to eduroam in the Library from your own device.

Our  Walk-in Access (WIA) service allows you to use a limited range of our online resources from PCs within the Library.

To register, visit our Help Point during staffed hours and provide photo ID and proof of your address.  If you want to use WIA  you will need to register each time you visit.

It is possible to use Library Search to access resources, but you will not be able to access everything you might find.

If you try to access a resource that is not available to walk-in access users due to licensing restrictions, you will see an ‘Apologies’ page.

Use the Library Search from the Library homepage or anywhere you see the search tool. Enter your keywords into the search bar and click "Search”.

The Library Search searches millions of academic resources the Library has paid for you to be able to use. 

If you're having trouble finding what you need or require assistance with research, schedule a 1:1 session with a member of the library team. Do you have a book recommendation? Feel free to email us or talk to a library staff member.

Your Library Account lets you see what you have borrowed from the library, and make reservations. It is part of the Library Catalogue and it is available 24/7.
