Read Manchester Staff Challenge

Reduce your stress levels - Take part in TMC* Staff Reading Ahead Challenge with Read Manchester

Read Manchester logo

Research has revealed that reading is the best way to relax and even six minutes can be enough to reduce the stress levels by more than two thirds.

The Manchester College Libraries are joining with the Read Manchester Reading Ahead Challenge.

Staff should join in now to complete the challenge between now and September.

Read six books, poems, articles etc. that challenge your current reading habits. You decide on your own personal reading challenge as long as it covers six items.  For example, our Librarian Yvonne is reading an autobiography because she usually reads fiction. Someone who hasn’t read for pleasure for years (or ever) might want to start with a Quick Read or an long magazine article.

Choose from a range of reads in the College libraries, or why not pop in to your public library to see what they have to offer. Library staff are happy to help and there is online advice on choosing a read.

Next, review your reads in a small diary available from any College Library or email and she will post one to you.

Return your completed diary to be entered in our prize draws.

*This challenge is open to all LTE Group staff
